About thE Author
My name is Amanda Goddard, and I am the youngest of nine children (yours, mine, and ours type of situation). I am the ESL Department Head at Foxborough Regional Charter School. For the past two years, I have coached cheerleading, advised the student council for the Class of 2019, and taught at our district's Saturday Academy program. This past summer, I decided to embark on a new journey. I am now a doctoral candidate in the 2017 Cohort at Lesley University.
As cliche as it might sound, teaching has always been a passion of mine. I don't mind going to work everyday because without a doubt I will hear a student say something to another teacher, a friend, or myself that reminds me #whyiteach. I strive to be better everyday--not only for myself-- but for my students.
I love to travel, especially when I can help make a difference at the destination! I have traveled to Haiti four times within the past four years, three of these times for volunteer work at The School of Hope. I was also fortunate enough to be chosen as the chaperone for a school trip to Ghana, Africa last year. We didn't find out we would be painting a classroom mural until we arrived--and I have zero artistic ability!
